My Christmas Wish

Comes with a language warning....

Yep, that was my Mum's wall, I am such an awesome daughter.

But Health really is all I am wishing for, for Christmas and for the coming year.
Maybe if I'd told Ben that, he might not have bought me so many presents...

I was a very spoiled girl and got the coolest surprise present ever:

Yep, I really am just a big kid.

Anyway, back to the Health thing. After my lovely polite comment on my Mum's status, I didn't get off to the best start with Christmas lunch. I decided it would be 'worth it' to eat some things I am a bit allergic too, so I ate Cauliflower with Cheese, Garlic Bread, and little pieces of Icecream Cake and Gingerbread House. Thankfully again this year I was able to control myself and not eat to the point of exploding, but about 30mins after eating these things I did look a bit like a blimp. And later on I didn't have a very friendly trip to the toilet. So, was it worth it... maybe, kind of, I don't know?!
I'm certainly not going to be in a hurry to do it again.

I think it came about because at this time of year, I am just feeling so damn deprived. Allergies really do suck. Feeling so deprived because of my allergies is making me re-think some other things that I can eat, but choose not to, but I will go into more detail on that another day (when I have had a chance to fully think it through).

Have you been keeping up with your workouts over Christmas?

My training schedule hasn't been going completely to plan, but I am still relatively happy with how I am tracking. (I am really hanging out for the time when I can do weights again - my left elbow is still giving me grief.)
I did my two gym sessions last Wednesday and Thursday, and my 5.5km on Saturday. But yesterday, I really didn't feel like getting up at 6.30am to go for a run. It was my first real chance to sleep in and I took it.
Besides, I had a blood donation at 9.15am that I needed to be nicely hydrated for:

I had a chat to the nurse who did my donation, hoping he would say 'yeah sure, you can go for a run this afternoon'. He didn't recommend it.

So I settled on a shorter, quicker run this morning, hopefully that will be enough to prepare me for tomorrows race.

I am hoping for a time of less than, or low 40's.

Keep your fingers crossed for me :)
